Desilters are what smaller diameter hydrocyclones are commonly called, and its the step in solids removal prior to processing from desanding cones. Desilters are capable of handling lower flow rates, typically 40-60 GPM per cone, at a cutpoint of 25-35µm (micron). The underflow will be recirculated over a shaker, to dry and remove solids while passing the liquid portion through the shaker to be processed again.
