What is a Mud Cleaner

A Mud cleaner is a combination of desander and desilter and mounted over a shale shaker with a fine mesh screen. A mud is fed to the inlet of hydrocyclone to separate particles and the underflow passes to the fine mesh where in particles larger than barite are discarded and thrown away. It is the second and third phase cleaning equipment for a whole solids control system.

Our Mud Cleaner Completes consist of everything you need to plumb up to and operate the equipment as its own stand-alone unit. Just select the Mud Cleaner and Shaker combination you need based off of the flow rate you need to process, and what micron level you need to cut to.

You can option the equipment combination to be on a “Cut Away Skid” so you can easily mount the unit over an existing tank. If you do not have an existing tank to dump into, you can opt for an “Oil Field Skid” on some models which will catch the under flow of the shaker allowing you to redirect the fluid as needed. If you need to retain a larger capacity, we are more than capable of constructing and fitting the equipment on any size tank you need.

More on How to Make Your Selection

Triflo’s expertly designed line of mud cleaners are a cost effective, reliable solution to removing sands and solids from contaminated water. All of our units utilize Triflo patented static hydro-cyclones for solids separation. This offers many unique advantages as they do not utilize any moving parts which helps to keep operation cost and downtime to a minimum.

In addition the produced water out of our cones flow through our “candy canes” into an open top atmospheric pressure discharge trough, instead of a pressured discharge manifold. This discharge method is unique to Triflo and allows our mud cleaners to be operated at lower pressure, as low as 25 PSI, reducing the size of pumps needed to power our units.
